If you are quite picky when it comes to your sleep space, you should think about buying a king mattress. But this is not as easy as it seems because there’s not just one king size mattress available on the market.

The extra space is great if you are a couple as you will both sleep comfortable and wake in a great mood in the morning. If you have a dog/cat you won’t have to tell them to get down because it’s lots or room for everybody to sleep.

Each king mattress size has its own advantages and disadvantages and you should choose according to your needs, budget and free space in the bedroom.

The standard, 76″ X 80″ King is the widest bed on the US market and it’s very comfortable for a couple. If you like to have your small child to sleep with you in the bed than this is the suited bed for you three. However, if you are quite tall this bed won’t do it for you because it will keep your feet in the air. Buying sheets for this bed is not a hard task because they are very frequent and you just have to look for the king size sheets/covers.

The California king mattress is 72″ X 84″, therefore providing more length than standard king. You can even sleep on the diagonal and still feel comfortable. The 4 inches minus are a downside because they will clearly make the difference in the comfortable you experience.

The dual king mattress is great for the guests room because it consists of two twin xl mattresses and if you have a couple sleeping over you can put the two beds together. When you’re not hosting a couple you can separate the two beds and you’re done.

King mattresses provide lot of sleep space and are a great choice but they’re big, chunky and moving them is a lot of work. If you like to constantly move your bed in the bedroom, you might need to get some assistance because you might damage your back in the process. They are also hard to get in, to pass through the hallway or up the stairs.

If you have a small bedroom this bed might not be for you. I know you want a big, comfy bed but it will end up looking out of place and you will have trouble using the other furniture items you already have in there.

Get the king mattress you want and enjoy all the extra space you have now. It’s more expensive than a queen mattress, but it’s truly worth it.
