Why am I sweating a lot after drinking alcohol?
Night sweats in men under 30 are not that common unless you drink a lot of alcohol.
But, what has this got to do with you if you are over 50? Night sweats in men over 50 are quite usual because of the period that is also known as andropause. Andropause is sometimes going to lead to night sweats. But, no matter what age you have, you will probably experience night sweats when drinking too much alcohol.
If you are sweating a lot after drinking alcohol then chances are that you are drinking too much. While drinking 200-500 ml of any sort of alcohol can be good for our health because it will make us stronger, drinking more is not recommended. Night sweats from alcohol is quite common in persons that drink too much.
Excess, as you might know, is only going to bring bad things, no matter if you drink alcohol or eat too many carrots. One carrot or two each day is great, but when you eat 30 carrots daily for about 2 or 3 weeks, your skin will start looking orange and you will become sick. Guess you did not know this, right? It’s the same thing with alcohol so you should quit while you are ahead.
In case you are sweating a lot after drinking alcohol what you need to do is to actually find the reasons for your night sweats. First, you should give this thing some time meaning that you should stop drinking alcohol for at least 2 weeks and see if you still sweat after that period.
Sweating after 2-3 days or even more after you have quit drinking is something common and it does not mean anything. If, after 14 days you still sweat, it could be that you have night sweats because of other reasons like some sort of pills, foods like garlic, onions or red meat.
You can also experience excessive sweating because of having too much coffee. What does too much coffee mean? More than 2 cups of coffee is too much. So, go see a doctor if you had patience for a while and are still sweating. You can find out that some medication you are taking is responsible for your sweating and not the alcohol you drink.
